The DII Southeast District Sectional boys golf tournament took place on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Jaycee Public Golf Course.
A total of 16 teams competed in the event, including Alexander, Circleville, Fairfield Union, Logan Elm, Lynchburg-Clay, McClain, Meigs, Nelsonville, New Lexington, River Valley, Unioto, Vinton County, Washington, West Union, Westfall and Zane Trace.
The top five teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team would advance to the District tournament.
The top five teams in order were: Westfall with a 321, Lynchburg-Clay with a 323, Logan Elm with a 323, Fairfield Union with a 327 and West Union with a 337.
The top five individuals not on a qualifying team were: Mason Morris of Alexander with a 77, Micah Savage of River Valley with a 77, Reid Seimetz with a 79, Brayden West of Vinton County with an 80 and Callaway Ratliff of Unioto with an 81.
As a team, McClain finished in 10th with a 359 and Washington finished in 13th with a 368.
Individually for McClain, Carter Nelson led with an 82, missing the cut to advance to the District tournament by just one stroke. Connor Chandler followed with an 83, missing the cut by two strokes. Next was Alex Perie with a 91, followed by Carson Chandler with a 103 and Jeremy Webb with a 107.
Individually for Washington, Nathan Snyder led with a 90, followed by Logan Clevenger with a 91, Shane Crago with a 93, Sam Lotz with a 94 and Will Miller with a 96.
This concludes the boys golf seasons for both the Blue Lions and the Tigers.
The DII Southeast District Tournament will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 9 a.m. at Crown Hill Golf Course in Williamsport.
