Grates celebrate 67 years

Robert “Bob” and Pauline Grate will celebrate 67 years of marriage April 7, 2024. They were married April 7, 1951 in Greenfield. They have six sons: Steve, Keith “Lucky”, Gary, Eric, Kevin and Kyle; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Their address is 504 S. Second St., Greenfield, Ohio 45123 in case anyone wants to send a card. They are pictured here on their wedding day.

Hello! I had a question thrown at me this morning. A friend called me and asked, “How do you make soup beans” because she was tired of buying them out of a jar. It just happened that I had a pot of beans for Easter.

DAR attends 125th state conference

The Waw-wil-a-way Chapter DAR attended the 125th Ohio State Daughter’s of the American Revolution Conference the weekend of March 23. Waw-wil-a-way was well represented and received several awards. Mary Jo Copeland and Caroline Siemers entered the Constitution Week Poster Contest with Copeland taking first and second, and Siemers taking third. Copeland will be entered in the National DAR Constitution Poster Contest, the winner being awarded at the DAR Continental Congress in June. Patricia Young was awarded for GEP training and Elissa Zornes was awarded for community leadership trading.
