The Highland County Board of Commissioners recognized April as National County Government Month 2024 at their meeting Wednesday. The Southern Ohio Genealogical Society will present Writing your Family History; Telling a Story about the Past on Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at 1487 N. High St., Hillsboro. The program will be presented by Betty E. Crum.

The Hillsboro Library is feeling super sweet next month with its first ever cookie contest.

The Hillsboro Library is excited to invite young patrons to attend Hogwarts with their newest book club.

The Hillsboro Garden Club began the first meeting of the year by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America”.

Rainsboro Boy Scouts Troop 7316/5316 recently received a $2,000 donation from the Ohio Elks for community projects and a summer camp. In addition, Jackson Sears of Rainsboro Cub Scouts 5316 received a $1,000 merit award from the Ohio Elks recognizing his community service. The money will be spent on clothing for children in need at Rainsboro Elementary. The liaison between the scouts and the Elks was Dan Pearce of the Wilmington Elks.

The Hillsboro Library is excited to celebrate National Poetry Month with weekly activities that will culminate in a special Poetry Open Mic on Saturday, April 27.
