Rainsboro Elementary School has released its honor roll and perfect attendance lists for the second grading period of the 2022-23 school year.

Mowrystown FFA members Adrionna Phillips and Emma Helterbrand attended the North American International Livestock Exposition. The members have amazed the chapter in many ways, and their showmanship skills have inspired many young kids. The Highland County Fair was a big success for these girls also. Helterbranda placed first and second in her class and Phillips placed first in class showmanship, first in her division, and she also received reserve overall.

Three students were recently chosen to be the sixth-grade Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) leaders at Hillsboro Middle School.

The Fairfield FFA recently raised money to make and deliver meals to feed farmers harvesting around the Highland County area. The FFA delivered more than 90 meals all together in a span of two nights. It also received a generous sponsorship from Premier Grain LLC to pay for the meals. Premier Grain also donated hats that were passed out to farmers that received meals. More than 35 students were a part of the deliveries.

COLUMBUS — The president responsible for giving America the federal Christmas holiday is getting a special day of his own.

Wilmington College has announced those students who completed their studies by earning Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degrees following the 2022 fall semester. They are eligible to participate in the college’s 147th annual Commencement on May 13.

Southern State Community College has released its president’s list and dean’s list for academic excellence for fall semester 2022. To be eligible for the president’s list a student must maintain a 4.0-grade point average while carrying a specific number of academic credit hours. Those who achieve the dean’s list are full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5-grade point average out of a possible 4.0.

“Phil Dirt and The Dozers” will make their annual return to the historic Murphy Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
