Deer gun harvest increases

COLUMBUS — Hunters across Ohio harvested 15,469 white-tailed deer during the extra weekend of deer gun hunting on Dec. 16-17, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. During the two-day gun weekend over the last three years, hunters checked an average of 13,329 deer. In 2022, the weekend total was 15,164.

Ohio minimum wage to increase Jan. 1

Ohio’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase on Jan. 1, 2024, to $10.45 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.25 per hour for tipped employees. The minimum wage will apply to employees of businesses with annual gross receipts of more than $385,000 per year.
