GREENFIELD — It was a match up featuring an experienced Washington Blue Lion team taking on the McClain Tigers, a team full of players playing in just their fourth career varsity game in front of a large crowd Friday at McClain High School.

Burton signs with Ohio Christian University

Hillsboro High School senior Hannah Burton signed her letter of intent to play college softball at Ohio Christian University on Nov. 21. She is a pitcher and first baseman on the Lady Indian softball team and also plays travel softball with Bell City Ringers. She is a member of the National Honor Society and local Future Farmers of America chapter. She has been taking College Credit Plus classes at Southern State Community College and Ohio Christian University. She will be majoring in grades 4-9 math/science education in preparation to become a teacher. She is pictured with her parents (l-r) Terra Burton, Hannah Burton and James Burton.

HILLSBORO — The Washington High School and Miami Trace High School bowling teams visited Hillsboro for a Frontier Athletic Conference match at Highland Lanes. Hillsboro won the boys’ match with a total of 2,764 pins. Miami Trace had a score of 2,474 and Washington had a total score of 2,355.

HMS wrestlers kick off 2022-23 season

The Hillsboro Middle School wrestling team traveled to Waynesville Middle School to compete in their annual dual tournament. Due to injury and illness, the Indians only had six wrestlers competing, putting them at an insurmountable disadvantage. However, those that were able to compete represented the school well.
