Five members from the Hillsboro FFA Chapter attended the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference held Wednesday at the Ohio Statehouse. The five students that attended were Minnie Price, Morgan Holland, Taylor Chaney, Breanne Fender and Kaleb Harp. At the Statehouse, FFA chapters from across Ohio participated in a seminar that taught students about lobbying. “We got to experience what it is like trying to lobby a bill. It was challenging, but fun,” said Harp. The members also ate lunch with state representatives Bill Dean and Doug Green and state senator Bob Peterson. They got the opportunity to meet Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David Daniels. They also met with Hillsboro’s Lauren Grover and Meredith Oglesby, who are now serving on the state FFA officer team.
