Pilot dog presentation in Hillsboro

The public is invited to a pilot dog presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 at 110 S. High St., Hillsboro.

A trainer and one of their dogs from Pilot Dogs will present an overview of the program and facility and provide demonstrations.

Pilot Dogs, Inc. has been serving the blind and visually impaired community since 1950 to provide a unique form of independence and mobility through the use of guide dogs. Over 7,500 individuals have received training in the use of these guide dogs.

Pilot Dogs are available to legally blind individuals who would benefit from such dogs and is supported entirely by public contributions. There is no federal, state or city aid. Pilot Dogs, Inc. has been officially recognized by the U.S. Treasury Department as a 501(c)3 tax deductible charity.

The facility is located at 577 W. Town St. in Columbus and an open house will be held Sunday from 1-5 p.m. for dedication of the newly completed facility. Their motto is: Open Your Heart for Closed Eyes.
