State Route 135 in Highland County has been reopened between U.S. Route 50 at Allensburg and Anderson Road following a culvert replacement project by crews from Highland County ODOT’s highway maintenance facility.

The county’s maintenance crews will now shift their attention to SR 73 in the coming week for a four-day culvert replacement project between Flat Run Road and Zion Road, east of Belfast and approximately two miles west of the Highland-Adams County line.

The closure is scheduled to go into effect Tuesday, May 23, and it will remain in place through Friday, May 26. While the route is closed, thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via SR 41 and SR 124. Motorists may also detour by way of SR 32, SR 247 and either SR 770 or SR 785.

Although SR 135 has been reopened south of Anderson Road, the route remains closed immediately north of Glenavy Drive at Lynchburg as part of a construction project on SR 135 and SR 28 by the Shelly Company. This 75-day closure of SR 135 will be in effect through the end of the July, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via SR 134 and U.S. 50.
