Hillsboro resident Sue Thornhill was recently named the Highland County Senior Citizen Center 2017 Outstanding Senior by a vote of the membership. She has been a member of the center for six years. “She has volunteered for various events, done a lot of sewing projects, helps out with almost every fundraiser, coordinates different events and activities, and is a current board member,” said Mechell Frost, executive director at the center. “I really appreciate everything she does for the senior center. She has helped out with so many things … I couldn’t have got some things done without her. She goes above and beyond and she’s a friendly face at the center. She has a good heart and we really appreciate Sue.”
