William and Winona Storer celebrated their 60th anniversary June 25 at the Ponderosa Banquet Center. The couple was married June 22, 1957 by the late Rev. Paul Jones. A host of family and friends were at the party for the celebration. The Storers had two daughters, Tina, who passed away in 2012, and Melissa of Cincinnati. They also have a grandson, David Moon II, the son of Tina Storer. A wonderful time was had with nieces and nephews the Storers had not seen in many years. Winona is the youngest daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Greene of Hillsboro and William is the son of the late Everett and Letha Storer of Hillsboro. The couple are lifelong residents of Highland County and plan to spend the rest of their lives here. High school sweethearts, they have seen many changes in the community. The schools they attended are gone and officials have come and gone. The Storers said they look forward to spending time watching all the changes being made by “wonderful” Mayor Drew Hastings. “It certainly looks different than many years ago. Our love for Hillsboro will always be in our hearts,” they said.
