Humane Society Pet of the Week

0

The Highland County Humane Society Animal Shelter has three labs up for adoption this week. There are two males and one female. They are 4 months old and look like triplets.

The shelter staff are working on walking these dogs on a leash. They were born on a farm and are used to having their freedom and running around. These pups are young and could be trained easily and anyway you want them. Check on Google or call your local veterinarian to find a certified trainer.

Visit the shelter located at 9331 SR 124, east of Hillsboro, if you can provide a good home to any of the dogs or cats. The shelter is open six days a week from noon to 5 p.m. It is closed on Wednesdays.

The Humane Society still has appointments available for the Rascal Unit at the Leesburg Fire House on Wednesday, July 26. If you would like to get your pets spayed, neutered, update its shots or even have some surgical procedures, call the Humane Society for appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted. For more information call 937-393-2110.

The Humane Society’s next pet adoption and fundraising event will be held at Advance America, 712 Harry Sauner Road, Hillsboro, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29. There will be dogs and cats up for adoption, baked goods available for purchase, and a collection box for items needed at the shelter. Items needed include: bleach, laundry detergent, Dawn blue dishwashing liquid or Ivory dishwashing liquid, paper towels, Lysol wipes, Pedigree dog food, Purina Puppy Chow, and Purina Cat and Kitten Chow. Canned dog food or cat food or treats of any kind will all be appreciated.

Advance America says all proceeds will go to help the Humane Society.
