Dairy Cup, Chamber celebrate 10 years

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated 10 years of business with the S & K Dairy Cup, located on U.S. Route 50 in Hoagland, just west of Hillsboro.

Karie Emery, who owns the business with her husband, Steve, said it doesn’t seem like 10 years have gone by since they purchased the small business in Highland County.

“Steve and I purchased the Fifty Freeze from Bill Musser in 2007,” Karie Emery said. “We wanted to pursue our dream of owning a small business to show our four sons the life of an entrepreneur. We have been blessed to have Steve’s father, Chuck Emery, as the manager since we are busy with boys’ sports schedules and our own full-time jobs. Angie Smith is our assistant manager, and does a great job making sure things run smoothly on a daily basis. Our staff is a great young group of kids from several local high schools who work hard to provide anyone at the S & K Dairy Cup with the best customer service.”

Karie Emery said the plan is to keep the business in the family for many more years.

“We are fortunate to live and have a small business in Highland County and are able to provide wonderful food, golf, ice cream, and a relaxing environment when you visit the S & K Dairy Cup,” Karie Emery said. “Thanks to our wonderful customers from a great 10 years and we look forward to serving you for another 10.”
