Canine Commanders compete at state fair

The Highland County Canine Commanders 4-H Club earned several awards at the 2017 Ohio State Fair Dog Show.

Competing at the state fair were Kyah Chaney, Haiden Scott, Kiera Scott, Kalie Scott, Emma Sanderson, Katherine Ogden, Anne Marie Ogden, MacKenzie Smith and Emmy Hawkins.

Chaney placed 10th in Intermediate Poster. She earned third place in Beginner Novice B with her dog, April. She placed sixth in Novice A and 11th in rally Novice C with her dog, Prince. She placed 12th in You and Your Dog and earned her third Ohio State Fair championship title.

Haiden Scott placed fourth in Skillathon for 10-year-olds. She earned Outstanding Achievement. She earned her first Ohio State Fair championship title.

Kiera Scott placed second in Junior Showmanship A and 13th place in Beginner Novice A with her dog, Icy, and placed fourth in Skillathon for 9-year-olds.

Sanderson placed third in Beginner Novice A with her dog, Max.

Katherine Ogden placed fourth in Beginner Novice B with her dog, Scamp.

Anne Ogden placed 10th in Pre-Novice with her dog, Scotty.

Smith placed sixth in Novice B and eighth in Rally B with her dog, Roxy.

Chaney, Anne Ogden, Katherine Ogden and Haiden Scott also placed first in the Pre-Novice team class.

Hawkins placed second in Pre-Novice and 15th in Rally B with her dog, Duke.
