Hillsboro FFA Chapter hosts annual Ag Day

0

The Hillsboro FFA chapter held Ag day for the fourth grade students on Oct. 13. There were around 200 fourth graders participating and around 100 FFA members. Each year during Ag Day the FFA members work hard to inform the students about agriculture and get them excited to join FFA in the future. Throughout the day the fourth graders went through 10 stations where they learned about animals, crops and machinery. A few of the stations were showmanship, wildlife, soils, pumpkin painting and a petting zoo. At these stations students got to see farm animals and how to show them. They got to see wild animals and learn about hunting and fishing and they learned how layers of soil are formed and how raw crop is turned into the food they eat. Both the fourth grade students and the FFA members enjoyed the day bonding over agriculture, and the members look forward to hosting ag day in the future.
