Senior center hosts Healthy Halloween

The Highland County Senior Citizens Center hosted a free Healthy Halloween: Senior Health & Information Expo on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Twenty-eight business participated with information, and each donated a giveaway prize and a bingo prize. There was a magician, billiards tournament with prizes and a Bunco tournament with prizes. The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District offered fire extinguisher demonstrations and the community was able to try its skills at using a fire extinguisher with guidance from Paint Creek staff members. Laurel Oaks students styled hair and nails, and the Highland County Health Department took blood sugars. “We appreciate all the business that supported this event. The information, the prizes and creative costumes they provided made it a fun and successful event,” said Mechell Frost, senior center executive director.
