McClain grads earn American degrees

This year at the 91st National FFA Convention and Expo, two former members of the McClain FFA, Mat Barton, right, and Ethan Johnson received their American degrees. The American degree is the highest degree an FFA member can be awarded. This degree shows dedication and leadership throughout a member’s chapter and state. To receive an American degree, FFA members must have already received their State FFA Degree, hold active membership for the past three years, complete secondary instruction in an agricultural education program and operate an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program. Members must also show community service, leadership activity, and outstanding scholastic achievement.
