Thank you! The Leesburg Branch Library wants to thank our patrons for their generosity in donating to the Leesburg Food Bank and Toys for Tots. Your donations not only helped provide a Merry Christmas, but also a Happy New Year.

We also want to thank the Lions Club and the Village of Leesburg for continuing to let us participate in the Luminaria. And finally, we want to thank all our young patrons who participated in or Winter Reading Program. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Book Sale — The Leesburg Branch Library semi-annual book sale starts Thursday, Jan. 2 and runs through Saturday, Jan. 18. Remember, you don’t just get a great deal on wonderful books, your purchase help support the Leesburg branch’s summer reading programs. Please buy a book, and then buy another.

Games & Contests — Youth (12 years old and younger): 1) Birthday in January – enter and you could be the lucky winner. 2) Snowman Contest: return to the Leesburg Branch Library by Jan, 21. Prizes will be awarded to the top two vote getters and one randomly selected entry. All Ages: January Trivia. Is the following statement true or false? On Jan. 1, 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln freed all the slaves in the United States of America (Union and Confederacy). A prize will be awarded to one adult (18 and over), one teen (13-17) and one youth (12 and under) randomly selected from the correct answers. The contest ends Jan. 22 at noon. Submit your answer at the Leesburg Branch Library.

Jan. 16at 12:30 p.m. Page Turners (Tween Book Club) will discuss “Treasure Hunters” by James Patterson on Monday, Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
