State FFA officer visits HHS freshmen

Every year a state FFA officer comes to Hillsboro High School and talks to the ag classes. This year Joe Helterbrand, the previous Hillsboro FFA president and currently secretary of the Ohio FFA Association, met with Brian Cummings’ Hillsboro FFA freshman class via Zoom. Helterbrand and the freshman talked about communication. Helterbrand explained communication in three different phases: developing a message, sending the message, and receiving feedback. Helterbrand also had the freshman talk him through how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. “When we were talking Joe through making a PB & J he explained to us that we were using communication,” Halle Reveal said. Pictured (from left) are Katy Rhoades, Halle Reveal, Tahia Ames, virtually Joe Hilterbrand, Rylee Scott, Ashlei Hatfield and Morgan Garmen.
