Twenty Hillsboro FFA members traveled to the Ohio State Fairgrounds on April 2 to compete in the Spring Career Development Events.

Fifteen members competed in the General Livestock Judging Contest. The team placed fifth in the state out of 169 teams. Jacob Helterbrand placed 13th out of 899 individuals and Chase Colliver placed 22nd. Along with Helterbrand and Colliver, Meredith Oglesby and Lauren Grover were the third and fourth individuals making up the team score. Since the team placed within the top 10 teams in the preliminary round, Helterbrand, Colliver, Oglesby and Grover will be competing at the state finals on April 30.

Four members of the chapter competed in the Equine Judging Contest. Ciara Lister placed as the 70th individual and competed with Jasha Rose, Morgan Kelly and Minnie Price to make up the team.

One member, Dawson Carter, competed in the Wildlife Management Contest.
