U.S. 62 lane restrictions start Wednesday

As part of the ongoing Hobart Road extension project in Highland County, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart temporary traffic restrictions on U.S. Route 62 Wednesday.

Crews from the John R. Jurgensen Company will be setting a box culvert along U.S. 62 at Hobart Road and Clear Creek. Throughout the day, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. Although the route will be open, motorists are advised to expect periods of delay throughout the day.

Also, effective Thursday, Hobart Road will be restricted to one-way westbound traffic from U.S. 62 to its new intersection and the roundabout at Careytown Road, with Hobart Road closed to eastbound traffic between Homestead Avenue and U.S. 62. Hobart Road motorists wanting to travel east to access U.S. 62 will be detoured by way of the new extension – or, Carl Smith Drive – to SR 73 and Harry Sauner Road or by way of Careytown Road.
