Magic coming to Highland House

0

Magicians’ colorful posters will soon adorn the walls of the Highland County Historical Society’s Highland House Museum.

Now through Monday, Oct. 24, century old posters, programs, photographs and magic sets from magic’s golden age (1890 to 1930) will be on display at the museum.

World famous magicians Harry Houdini, Harry Blackstone Sr. and Howard Thurston will be highlighted in the exhibit. All the items are from the collection of local resident Steve Faris.

Faris himself is a magician with more than 40 years of professional experience.

On the closing evening of the exhibit – Monday, Oct. 24 – at 7 p.m. Faris will present a discussion on the history of magic featuring magicians and magic events directly associated with Highland County. Faris will also be performing throughout his live presentation.

The event is open to the public.

For more information call the museum at 937-393-3392.
