The Blanchester Police Department arrested the same man for drunk driving twice within four hours Saturday.

According to BPD Chief of Police Scott Reinbolt, at around 4 p.m. Saturday BPD Ptl. Greg McAllister responded to a citizen tip of a drunk driver in the 100 block of Bourbon Street.

McAllister stopped the vehicle in a business parking lot at Cherry and S. Broadway and identified the driver as Jeffrey Miracle, 42, of Clarksville. Miracle performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, Reinbolt said.

Miracle’s vehicle was locked and left in the parking lot and Miracle was transported to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, where he underwent breath testing. His test result was .302 percent blood alcohol content, Reinbolt said. The legal limit in Ohio is .08 percent.

Miracle was transported to the Blanchester police station where he was issued a citation and permitted to phone a friend to pick him up. A neighbor came to the police station and picked him up at around 7:45 p.m.

Shortly thereafter, Miracle’s neighbor came to the police station. The neighbor said that Miracle was in the car with him when they came to a stop sign, and Miracle got out of the car saying he was going to get his own car and drive it home, police said.

Ptl. McAllister stated he found Miracle driving his car on West Main Street and stopped him downtown. Miracle was again arrested for OVI and was transported to the police station, where he again submitted to a breath test which produced a result of .248 percent blood alcohol content, police said. Miracle was taken to the Clinton County Jail, where he was held in lieu of posting bond.

Miracle has a lengthy history of traffic offenses and several traffic accidents, but no prior convictions for OVI, Reinbolt said. Miracle will answer his current charges in the Clinton County Municipal Court.
