The Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education unanimously voted Tim Davis as the next superintendent of the Hillsboro City Schools during a special meeting Tuesday evening. The Times-Gazette reported last week that Davis had been selected as the next superintendent, but the board had not officially voted on the selection. Davis will replace Jim Smith, who is retiring July 31, 2017. Davis, a 1997 Hillsboro High School graduate and currently the Hillsboro intermediate principal, will officially become superintendent on Aug. 1, 2017. Davis is pictured at Tuesday’s meeting with his wife, Tara, and their children, from left, Teagan, Tylee, Tori and Tate. No other business was conducted during the meeting.
