A Martinsville man was killed early Monday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Highland County.

John W. Meyers, 26, was southbound on SR 134 at 5:24 a.m. near milepost 18 in a 2010 Dodge Caliber when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the left side of the road, and struck a tree. The vehicle came to a rest on its top, according to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Meyers sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Highland County Coroner.

The state patrol is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The crash investigation remains open and ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to contact the state patrol’s Wilmington Post with further information pertaining to the investigation.
