Two people were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon with minor injuries after a two-car collision at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and SR 72 in Samantha. According to trooper Kyle Prose of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a black Chevrolet Cruze driving northbound on U.S. 62 turned left onto SR 72 in front of a silver Acura TSX headed southbound on U.S. 62. The impact destroyed the front passenger’s side portion of the Acura and caused extensive damage along the length of the driver’s side of the Chevrolet. Prose told The Times-Gazette on scene that two people in the Acura were transported by ground to Highland District Hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured. According to Prose, the driver of the Chevrolet will be charged with failure to yield while making a left turn. The accident had U.S. Route 62 down to one lane for some time.
