A woman sought by local authorities throughout the day Wednesday has been located safely, according to Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera.

Kathy King, 63, was reported missing from her residence on Dunlap Road in Hillsboro after she left there around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Barrera said local media coverage and social media helped authorities locate King.

“I’d just like to thank everybody, the newspapers, the radio and Facebook users for getting it out there to help find her,” Barrera said.

King was uninjured and returned home without incident, according to Barrera.
