What’s going on at Greenfield library?

Ho! Ho! Hope everyone is busy preparing for a fun Christmas season. We are getting in the holiday spirit at the Greenfield Branch Library with some Christmas programming. All of our young Greenfield readers who participated in our Jingle Books Winter Reading program should bring their “Golden Tickets” to the Tasty Tales program on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. The Cooking Caravan will return to share an awesome book, games, music and a tasty snack. Santa will also make an appearance and have a treat for all those in attendance.

The Greenfield library hosts a Senior Exercise Class every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The fun-filled class is facilitated by Edgewood Manor. Join the group in doing exercises geared toward seniors.

We hope that kids and a parent can join us for our Family Fun Night on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. We will read about the legend of the Christmas Spider and make a spider ornament that kids can take home. The program is facilitated by Christy Miller and will be limited to 40 kids, so sign up at the front desk. Treats will be served.

Spencer McNeil will be facilitating our Teen Book Discussion Group on Thursday, Dec. 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Come and discuss this month’s book selection. Pizza and pop will be served. All Greenfield area teens are welcome.

Join us for our story times for kids preschool age and younger every Tuesday at 11 a.m. We will have songs, crafts, stories and other activities. Our themes this month include: Christmas Pies and Goodies, Christmas Plants and Here Comes Santa. We will be taking a break during the Christmas and New Year holidays and will resume our story times on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. If there is inclement weather on Tuesday mornings, please give us a call to see if we are open before heading out for story time.

The library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. We will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 1 for our New Year’s celebration. Please use the outdoor book drop to return items when we are closed.

The library staff wants to wish all of our patrons a blessed Christmas and happy new year. Feel free to stop in during the month to pick up a holiday book or movie or to attend one of the programs we have planned. We look forward to seeing you soon.
