Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that for the week of Sept. 17-23, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 267 911 calls, answered 130 requests for service, dispatched 116 fire and EMS runs, took 24 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

At 9:25 a.m. on Sept. 19, a Clinton county resident came to the sheriff’s office to report the theft of appliances from his rental property on Main Street in Highland. A deputy took an offense report.

An employee of a business on North Shore Drive called the sheriff’s office at 11:36 p.m. on Sept. 19 to report a suspicious male near the rear of the building during closing time. A deputy was dispatched to check the area, but the subject was gone upon arrival.

On Sept. 22 at 1:33 p.m. a resident of Roundhead Road called the sheriff’s office to report a breaking and entering and theft. A barn on the premises was broken into and several items were taken. A deputy took an offense report.

A deputy was dispatched to the 11000 block of Noble Road in Union Township at 11:05 p.m. on Sept. 23 to investigate a loud music complaint. The area was checked, but no source was located.
