The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Oct. 5

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Zachary Griffith, 35, of Hillsboro, was cited for squalling tires.

Connie Lightner, 44, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Sean Greene, 37, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension and squalling tires.

Lisa Mason, 45, of Hillsboro, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Ellen Ellis, 79, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to maintain control.

Angel Ballein, 41, of Hillsboro, was arrested for theft by deception.

Oct. 7

ACCIDENT

At 12:28 p.m., the police department responded to the 900 block of North High Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon investigation, Tyler Hisel, 26, of Hillsboro, was stopped in traffic on northbound North High Street. At the same time, Raymond Brown, 85, of Hillsboro, was traveling northbound on North High Street directly behind Hisel’s vehicle, failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead, and as a result struck the Hisel vehicle in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on the scene. Brown was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.

INCIDENT

At 4:52 p.m., the police department received a complaint of a male subject on foot in the 1000 block of North High Street destroying mailboxes. Upon arrival. officers located Ashton Morris, 24, of Hillsboro, who was arrested for criminal mischief and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
