‘Barktoberfest’ fundraiser Saturday at Holtfield

Barktoberfest is being held Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at Holtfield Station in Hillsboro. The annual event, presented by the Highland County Dog Pound Volunteer Program, raises funds for supplies and necessities at the dog pound facility. Dog Warden Cathy Seifer said there will be something at Barktoberfest for the whole family, such as a bake sale and marketplace with area vendors, a bouncy house and games, and a silent auction and raffle with all proceeds “going to the dogs.” Seifer said there will be puppies up for adoption at this year’s Barktoberfest. She is shown here with Tess, a pure-bred boxer who needs a good home.
