The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Cameron McConehea, 21, of Hillsboro, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Ocgt. 15

ACCIDENT

At 9:08 p.m. the police department responded to the area of South East Street and East Walnut Street for a report of a car crash. Upon investigation, a male juvenile was traveling eastbound on East Walnut Street and attempted to stop prior to crossing South East St when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle due to a mechanical issue causing him to strike twp parked cars. After striking the two parked cars the vehicle rolled onto its side, coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway. No injuries were reported at the time of the crash. The juvenile was issued a citation for reasonable control of a vehicle required.

Oct. 16

INCIDENT

At 2:10 p.m. a female came in to the police department to report John Merrick, 49, of Hillsboro, had continued to have contact with her after being advised not to. Charges were filed against Merrick for telecommunications harassment. He was arrested at a later date on the outstanding charges and transported to the Highland County Jail.

Oct. 18

INCIDENT

At 6:14 p.m. a female came in to the police department to report a theft of items from her vehicle while it was in the 100 block of West Walnut Street being worked on. The complainant advised that when she picked her vehicle up her speakers and amplifier were gone. After further investigation, the items were located at a residence in the 300 block of West Walnut Street. Candie Elliott, 35, of Hillsboro, was arrested for obstructing official business and receiving stolen property and was transported to the Highland County Jail.

Oct. 20

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Charles E. Powell, 33, of Hillsboro, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Brittany M. Long, 28, of New Vienna, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Levi T. Krebs, 27, of Hillsboro, was arrested for criminal trespassing.

INCIDENT

On Oct. 20 at 10:44 p.m. the police department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1200 block of North High Street to investigate an assault complaint. During the investigation officers were able to locate drug abuse instruments and other contraband in the vehicle. The driver, Jonathan Zuniga, 28, of Hillsboro, was issued citations for turn signal required, insufficient tail lights, no operator’s license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug abuse instruments and was transported to the Highland County Jail.
