Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Nov. 5-11, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 287 911 calls, answered 133 requests for service, dispatched 145 fire and EMS runs, took 28 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

On Nov. 8 at 1:17 a.m. a resident of the 5000 block of SR 138 discovered several persons trying to break into his garage. The homeowner was able to chase the suspects away before entry was gained. The suspects fled the scene in a white mini van with grey trim. Deputies responded to the scene.

A citizen came to the Highland County Justice Center at 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 9 to report an assault. A deputy spoke to the victim and an offense report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to the 10000 block of SR 73 at 3:04 p.m. on Nov. 10 to investigate the report of an active fight between two males. Once on the scene, all parties involved were interviewed, but none wished to pursue any charges. No report was taken.

At 12:35 a.m. on Nov. 11 deputies were dispatched to a residence on Aberdeen Way to investigate a domestic violence complaint. The victim called 911 to report being assaulted by her husband. Deputies interviewed both parties and an offense report was taken. A male subject was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
