Hillsboro resident Troop of the Year

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kyle L. Prose has been selected as the 2018 Trooper of the Year at the Wilmington Post.

The selection of Trooper Prose, 28, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2018 at the Wilmington Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Wilmington Post chose Prose based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Prose joined the Highway Patrol in 2013 and has served at the Wilmington Post since leaving the academy. Originally from Lucasville and a graduate of Northwest High School in McDermott, Prose is currently serving in the Ohio Army National Guard and attended Shawnee State College. He has recently served as a field training officer and has received the Highway Patrol Criminal Patrol Certificate Award.

Prose also received the Trooper of the Year Award in 2016.

He and his wife, Kala, live in Hillsboro with their daughter, Vivian.
