A culvert replacement project has been scheduled this week in Highland County, requiring single-day closures of a local roadway.

On Tuesday, May 7, crews will close Spickard Road at its junction with U.S. Route 50 to replace a culvert there. Weather permitting, Spickard Road will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 pm., and while the route is closed motorists will be detoured viaOldaker Road and Russell Road.

On both days, U.S. 50 will remain open to traffic while crews are working to replace the culverts; however, motorists are advised of the need for additional caution in the area as they will be entering and exiting the work zone.

Completion of either project will be contingent upon the weather.
