Twenty-five turkeys will be given away when SATH holds its 13th annual Turkey Bingo/Soup Supper event Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Hillsboro Elementary School gymnasium.

“Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we have the event for your holiday,” said SATH Executive Director Linda Allen. “Come play bingo with us and win a turkey or maybe even Thanksgiving dinner.”

The soup supper begins at 5 p.m. The menu will include homemade chicken and noodles, vegetable soup, beans and cornbread, hot dogs, and a variety of desserts.

Bingo starts at 6 p.m. A total of 25 turkeys will be given away during the games. The last game of the evening will be a coverall with the winner receiving a complete Thanksgiving dinner. The cost to play will be a donation of 25 cents per card.

During each break between games there will be a cake walk.

“We hope you join us for a fun-filled evening and help support some special kids at KAMP Dovetail,” Allen said.

SATH (Supplemental Assistance to the Handicapped) has operated Kamp Dovetail for 34 years. It is a five-day, four-night summer camp for children with special needs held the third week of June at Rocky Fork State Park. This past year, Allen said, over 750 individuals including children with special needs, volunteers and staff members enjoyed a fun-filled week of outdoor camping experiences.
