Update: Ross County officials say the body found is that of Tiffany Sayre, who has been missing since May 11, according to the Chillicothe Gazette.

A woman’s body was discovered wrapped in a sheet Saturday night on Cave Road, and the Highland County Sheriff’s Office has called in detectives from Ross County, said Sheriff Donnie Barrera.

Cave Road is not far from the Ross County line, and since October, six Chillicothe women have gone missing or turned up dead. News media have reported that the FBI has been involved in the probe.

The women have been identified as Timberly Claytor, Tameka Lynch, Shasta Himelrick, Charlotte Trego, Wanda Lemons, Tiffany Sayre, according to a recent Columbus Dispatch story.

The Dispatch reported that one man is in custody, who is a “possible suspect in the death of Claytor,” whose body was found recently with a gunshot to the head. “The man, however, hasn’t yet been charged in the death and is being held on unrelated charges,” the Dispatch reported.

Barrera told The Times-Gazette Sunday morning that the woman was found wrapped in a sheet.

“There wasn’t a lot to go on at the scene,” he said.

In a press release, Barrera said that at around 7 p.m. Saturday, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the eastern part of the county.

Barrera said the caller advised that while the caller and another were walking along the road, the caller observed a female body in a creek bed on Cave Road, in Paint Township.

Highland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and located the female body in the creek bed. Highland County Sheriff’s detectives, BCI&I, the county coroner and the county prosecutor were called to the scene. Ross County sheriff’s deputies assisted.

Barrera said that the Highland County coroner had the body sent to the Montgomery County Morgue for identification. The matter is still under investigation.
