A fatal one-vehicle crash in Highland County that claimed the life of a Bainbridge man Saturday is being investigated by the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Isaiah Skeens, 41, was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck westbound on U.S. Route 50 in Highland County’s Liberty Township at 11:22 a.m. Saturday when the vehicle traveled off the road after a curve, struck a traffic sign, overturned and then struck a tree, according to the state patrol.

Skeens was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time and no other vehicles were involved, the state patrol said.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said U.S. 50 was closed in both directions between Roads Lane and Hillsboro while the crash was investigated.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
