The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

April 18

INCIDENT

At 7:18 a.m. the police department responded to the 100 block of Harry Sauner Road on a complaint of a theft. The victim stated that someone stole a 2014 black Suzuki motorcycle from the back of their pickup truck. A report was taken, the vehicle identification number was obtained, and the motorcycle was entered as stolen into the Law Enforcement Automated Data System. The report remains under investigation. ACCIDENT

At 5:22 p.m. Cole Stapleton, 22, of Portsmouth, was driving a vehicle eastbound on West Main Street and Jamie Warner, 38, of Hillsboro, was sitting in a vehicle at a red light on West Main Street. Stapleton failed to maintain and assured clear distance ahead and his vehicle struck rear of Stapleton’s 2007 Chevrolet, causing moderate damage. No injures were reported.
