Maplecrest Meats & More celebrates grand opening

Maplecrest Meats & More celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting with the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, family, friends and members of the community on Tuesday.

Located at 547 S. High St. in Hillsboro, the business offers locally sourced meats and much more.

The business is a partnership between the Grimes and Holt families. John and Joanie Grimes and their family locally raise the grass-fed, grain-finished beef available for purchase in the freezer section of the store. Local entrepreneurs John and Andrea Holt have worked with a variety of vendors to bring high-quality, locally sourced products to the business. Additionally, they feature freshly cut beef and pork in the display coolers staffed by local meat cutter Mike Allering.

Maplecrest Meats & More also has a deli case that houses in-house made ham or tuna salad, salads and side dishes. Lunch meats and cheeses can be bought by the pound or made into a sandwich on your choice of bread. A wide variety of sauces, seasonings and rubs, as well as charcoal and wood pellets make it the one stop shop for all your meal prep needs.

If you are looking to stock your freezer, bulk beef is also available by special order. Stop in to see the wide variety of products and check the Maplecrest Meats & More Facebook page for specials and updates.
