The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brent Rinehart, 44, of Hillsboro, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Samual McLees, 34, of Hillsboro, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Levi Parker, 27, of New Lebanon, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Kendra Stafford, 34, of Bainbridge, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Thomas Barney Jr., 39, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension, failure to file application for registration and fictitious plates.

Kyle Simon, 24, of Hillsboro, was cited for possession of marijuana.

Dec. 2

ACCIDENT

At 11:06 a.m., the police department responded to the area of South High Street and East Main Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that Patricia Dillon, 50, of Hillsboro, was driving northbound on South High Street and made a right turn onto eastbound East Main Street. Melanie Short, 36, of Hillsboro, was parked on East Main Street and began backing a vehicle into the roadway and didn’t observe Dillon’s vehicle. As a result, Dillon had to swerve left in an attempt to avoid striking Short’s vehicle, but was unable to successfully do so causing her to strike Short’s vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported on the scene.

Dec. 3

ACCIDENTS

At 7:19 p.m., the plice department responded to the area of Harry Sauner Road and Roberts Lane for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that Heidi Lai, 41, of Hillsboro, was driving northbound on Roberts Lane when Eva Eliott, 55, of Hillsboro, was attempting to exit the Kroger Parking lot onto Roberts Lane. Elliott failed to observe Lai’s vehicle, causing her to strike it. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported on the scene. Elliott was cited with failure to yield the right of way.

At 12:33 p.m., the police department responded to the area of North High Street near North Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that Eric Miller, 49, of Lynchburg, was northbound on North High Street and slowed for traffic. Ashley Taylor, 20, of Dublin, was traveling behind Miller and failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and as a result, her vehicle struck the rear-end of Miller’s vehicle. No injuries were reported on the scene. Taylor was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Dec. 4

ACCIDENT

At 3:20 p.m., the police department responded to the 1200 block of North High Street for a report of a three-car crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that all vehicles involved had been southbound. James Hunley, 66, of Hillsboro, was driving a vehicle directly behind a vehicle driven by Kathy Jones, 52, of Hillsboro. Sandra Kelley, 51, of Hillsboro, was stopped in traffic along with Jones for a traffic signal located at Fenner Avenue. Hunley was distracted and failed to leave adequate distance ahead and struck the Jones vehicle in a rear-end type collision causing functional damage. Jones’ vehicle was pushed into the rear-end of Kelley’s vehicle due to impact, causing minor damage. Hunley’s vehicle also sustained minor damage to the front end. No injuries were reported on the scene. Hunley was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Dec. 5

ACCIDENT

At 9:33 p.m., the police department responded to the area of East Beech Street and North East Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that a Hillsboro juvenile was driving northbound on North East Street approaching the intersection of East Beech Street. Beth Aber, 53, of Hillsboro, was stopped in a vehicle on North East Street at the intersection of East Beech Street when the juvenile failed to stop prior, striking the Aber vehicle in the rear-end causing functional damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported on the scene. The juvenile was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
