The Clermont Sun Publishing Company recently purchased the News Democrat and Ripley Bee in Brown County and the People’s Defender in Adams County, all from Civitas Media, owner of The Times-Gazette and Highland County Community Guide/County Shopper.

But advertisers who have traditionally scheduled their ads into the Brown and Adams County publications through The Times-Gazette can continue to do so, said Gary Abernathy, publisher and editor of The Times-Gazette.

“We look forward to continuing to provide the same service for advertisers in Highland County who have long advertised jointly in The Times-Gazette and Highland County Community Guide/County Shopper along with the News Democrat and Ripley Bee in Brown County and the People’s Defender in Adams County,” said Abernathy.

The Sunday News Democrat and Brown County Press will merge into one newspaper, while the other newspapers will continue to publish as before. The sale will bring six newspapers together that will serve Brown, Adams and Clermont counties.

Readers in those counties will now have nine reporters bringing them the best local and regional news and sports in southwest Ohio. Advertisers can now reach almost 300,000 people across the three counties with one phone call.

“We are proud to be the leading local news source in our three-county area. Readers can count on us to continue to bring them the news that’s important to them,” Clermont Sun Publishing Company Owner Scott Champion said.

Highland County advertisers can continue to schedule advertising in the News Democrat, Ripley Bee or People’s Defender by calling Times-Gazette Advertising Manager Sharon Hughes or ad reps Tracie Guisinger or Chuck Miller at 937-393-3456.
