Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Aug. 29 to Sept. 4, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 314 911 calls, answered 140 requests for service, dispatched 104 fire and EMS runs, took 27 offense reports and investigated zero traffic crashes.

At 8:12 p.m. on Aug. 29 an employee of a North Beach Road business called the sheriff’s pffice to report a theft. A deputy responded to the scene where a report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute at a residence on Alexander Lane at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 2. All the parties involved were interviewed and the male half left for the night. No charges were necessary.

On Sept. 3 at 7:47 a.m. a Wagon Wheel Trail resident called the sheriff’s office to report someone had cut the tires on her vehicle. An offense report was completed and a deputy is investigating the incident.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Beechwood Lane at 2:02 a.m. on Sept. 4. to investigate a noise complaint called in by a neighbor. The source of the noise turned out to be a male and female involved in a domestic dispute. Both subjects were advised to cease their raucous behavior. No charges were filed.

A Fairfield Township resident called 911 at 2:18 a.m. on Sept. 4 to report a possible breaking and entering at a business on Underground Road. Deputies responded to the scene and checked the premises. Everything was found to be secure.
