The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Oct. 15

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

John J. Poplin, 39, of Mt Sterling, was cited for driving under suspension.

A male juvenile from Hillsboro was cited for reckless operation.

ACCIDENTS

At 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 15, the police department responded to the area of North West Street and West Beech Street for the report of a three-car crash. Timothy Carter of Hillsboro was traveling north on North West Street while Matthew Walker of Hillsboro was traveling east on West Beech Street and Roger Cadwallader of Hillsboro was traveling south on North West Street. Walker was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of North West Street and West Beech Street waiting for Carter to stop. Carter stopped at the sign and Walker proceeded to make a left turn to travel north on North West Street and Carter did not see Walker. Carter accelerated through the intersection and struck Walker’s vehicle causing Walker to spin around and strike Cadwallader, who was stopped at the stop sign. Carter was cited for failure to yield and Walker was cited for driving under suspension.

INCIDENTS

At 12:15 p.m. on Oct.15 the Hillsboro police department received a call of a man on Harry Sauner Road pointing a pistol at the caller. Officers located a vehicle matching the description given and identified a Daniel Estle, 59, of Wilmington, as the driver. Estle was found to be in possession of a pistol and was arrested for aggravated menacing and transported to the Highland County Jail.
