Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that for the week of Jan. 2-8, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 233 911 calls, answered 131 requests for service, dispatched 132 fire and EMS runs, took 35 offense reports and investigated seven traffic crashes.

At 11:28 a.m. on Jan. 2 a Union Township trustee contacted the sheriff’s office to report a large amount of trash had been dumped on Ayres Road. A deputy investigated the incident and located the person who dumped the refuse. A charge of littering was filed against the suspect.

A West New Market Road resident called the sheriff’s office a 4:14 a.m. on Jan. 4 to report a suspicious vehicle parked in his driveway. Deputies conducted several traffic stops as well as checking around several dwellings. All structures were found to be secure.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on SR 41 in Madison Township on Jan. 4 when the property owner called to report someone had cut a fence, entered his barn and stole a go-cart. Evidence was collected from the scene and an offense report was taken.

Two people were arrested on Jan. 7 following a 911 call from a Golden Doubloom Lane residence reporting a domestic dispute. Deputies were dispatched home on Golden Doubloon at 7:33 p.m. when a family member reported a male and female were fighting. David S. Shull, 41, and Lorraine M, Shull, 35, were arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice center on one count each of domestic violence.
