The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 28

ACCIDENTS

At 9:04 p.m., the police department responded to a crash in the area of Danville Pike and East Josie Avenue. Upon officer arrival, it was found that an unknown motorist operating a Dodge sedan ran a stop sign, striking James P. Faust, 68. of Hillsboro, who was operating a silver Dodge SUV. After investigation of the scene, a license plate was found which led to locating the other involved party of the crash.

March 1

ACCIDENT

At 2:30 p.m., the police department responded to a crash in the 1400 block of North High Street. Upon officer arrival it was found that a male juvenile, 17, of Hillsboro, operating a Mazda coupe, was traveling behind Larry J. Lamme, 74, of Leesburg, operating a Ford truck, going the same direction on North High Street. The juvenile failed to maintain an assured cleared distance and struck the rear of Lamme’s vehicle. The male juvenile was cited for assured cleared distance.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Charles Powell, 31, of New Vienna, received a traffic citation for no operator’s license.

Charles R. Clark, 74 of Hillsboro, received a traffic citation for failure to yield when turning left.

Brandy N. Boyce, 25, of Vienna, W.Va., was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.
