The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

STATISTICS

The statistics for the week beginning Monday, May 1, through Sunday, May 7, are as follows: police department received 471 calls, 4 – 911, investigated 13 crashes, took 10 offense reports, made 26 arrests, and completed 72 security checks.

May 5

ACCIDENT

The police department investigated a crash in the 100 block of North High Street. Sandra Edwards, 54, of Hillsboro, was stationary in northbound traffic when her vehicle was rear-ended. Austin Lester, 19, of Hillsboro, was northbound and was unable to stop in time, striking Edwards vehicle and causing disabling damage to his 1999 Plymouth. Lester was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Loretta Wilkin, 49, of Hillsboro, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine product.

Amber Blankenship, 27, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Sandra Edwards, 54, of Hillsboro, was cited for expired tags.
