The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

May 19

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Joseph Temple, 45, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Kelly C. Tuck, 40, of Hillsboro, was cited for speed.

Dustin J. Murphy, 34, of Leesburg, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Shawn Yoakum, 26, of Hillsboro, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

A juvenile was cited for aggravated menacing.

A juvenile was cited for drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

INCIDENT

At 9:58 a.m. the police department took a report of several items taken from a residence in the 800 block of Treewood Drive.

ACCIDENT

At 3:36 p.m. the police department responded to the 100 block of West Main Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon investigation, Mary Ann Cummings, 62, of Hillsboro, was sitting stationary stopped in traffic on West Main Street to travel westbound. While sitting at the traffic light, Dakota Hottinger, 19, of Hillsboro, was backing out of an on-street parking spot and struck the right rear corner of Cummings’ vehicle with the left rear of her vehicle. Both vehicles received minor non-functional damage. No injuries were reported on the scene. Hottinger was cited for improper backing.

ACCIDENT

At 1:05 p.m. the police department received a call in reference to a two-car crash in the area of North Elm Street and West Beech Street. Upon investigation, Kevin Blackburn, 33, of New Vienna, was traveling westbound on West Beech Street and was stopped at the intersection at North Elm Street when William Barnes, 49, of Hillsbor,o was traveling westbound on West Beech Street and was stopped in traffic behind Blackburn. Blackburn then observed oncoming traffic and backed up his vehicle to allow the oncoming traffic to pass, causing his vehicle to back in to the Barnes vehicle. Blackburn was cited for improper backing.
