Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of May 29 to June 4 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 282 911 calls, answered 139 requests for service, dispatched 139 fire and EMS runs, took 37 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

At 2:40 a.m. on May 31 deputies were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street in Lynchburg after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. A male and female were interviewed about the circumstances of the altercation and Randall Carboni, 37, was arrested on one count of domestic menacing.

On June 1at 8:07 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a call from a business in the 4000 block of SR 138 reporting a vehicle theft. A deputy responded to the scene and an offense report was taken.

A deputy responded to a residence on Selph Road at 10:01 a.m. on June 2 after the sheriff’s office received a call from an alarm monitoring company. The residence was checked and everything was found to be secure.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of suspicious persons messing around a residence on Beltz Road at 2:43 a.m. on June 4. The caller witnessed two unknown male subjects on the property and called the sheriff’s office. The premises were checked and everything was found to be secure. The suspects were not located.
