The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

June 18

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Deborah K. Griffith, 61, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant.

ACCIDENTS

At 3:56 p.m., the police department responded to a business in the 1400 block of North High Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon officer arrival it was determined that William Cook, of Sabina, was driving a vehicle behind a vehicle driven by Eric Weaver, of Troy, when Cook removed his foot from the brake pedal causing his vehicle to move forward and strike Weaver’s vehicle causing minor damage. No injuries were reported.

At 10:10 p.m., the police department responded to the intersection of Main Street and High Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival it was determined that Jeremy Kinnett, 38, of Hillsboro, was driving a vehicle southbound on North High Street approaching the intersection of Main Street while Stella Carrington, 24, of Georgetown, was southbound in a vehicle on North High Street ahead of Kinnett. Both Kinnett and Carrington were in the straight lane to proceed through the intersection onto South High Street when Kinnett failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck the back of Carrington’s vehicle causing minor damage. Kinnett was cited for assured clear distance ahead. No injuries were reported while officers were on the scene.

INCIDENT

At 6:18 a.m. it was reported to the police department that sometime during the night a person(s) had stolen the front and rear Ohio registration plates from a parked vehicle in the 400 block of North High Street. The vehicle had been “keyed” the entire length of the driver’s side and both tires on the driver’s side had been deflated. A report was taken

June 19

ACCIDENT

At 7:11 p.m., the police department responded to a traffic crash on John Street. A 17-year-old male from Hillsboro was traveling west on John Street, driving a 1996 Jeep. Marty Balon, 48, of Hillsboro, was traveling east on John Street. As Balon was negotiating the curve, the juvenile attempted to brake for the curve, the brakes locked up. and his vehicle began to slide. The juvenile slid across the double yellow line and struck the left front of the 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Balon. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to maintain control.

June 20

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Timothy Groves, 27, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Samuel Holiday, 21, of Peebles, was cited for driving under suspension.

Amber Coyle, 35, of New Vienna, was arrested on a bench warrant

James Rock, 38, of Bellevue, Ky. was arrested for assault.

James Byers, 31, of Columbus was arrested for obstructing official business.

June 21

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Devyn Price, 24, of Greenfield, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

ACCIDENTS

At 4:53 p.m., the police department responded to the area of Chillicothe Avenue and Bowers Avenue for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Arville Sharp, 86, of Hillsboro, was parked in a vehicle on private property on the north side of Chillicothe Avenue while Douglas Click, 19, of Hillsboro, was traveling westbound on Chillicothe Avenue. Sharp failed to see oncoming traffic when backing from private property on to the roadway. Click attempted to stop, but was unable to do so causing an angle type collision. Sharp was cited for failure to yield while entering roadway. No injuries were reported on the scene.

At 12:47 p.m., the police department responded to Pea Ridge Road and North West Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Daniel McDaniel, 66, of Cincinnati, was sitting in a vehicle at the stop sign at Pea Ridge Road and North West Street facing eastbound. McDaniel pulled his vehicle out on to North West Street to make a left turn and struck a vehicle driven by James McGuire, 84, of Hillsboro, who was traveling southbound. McDaniel was cited for failure to yield the right of way. No injuries were reported on the scene.
